Cocktail of the month: Backwards Bramble
Bartender Sam Claridge puts a twist on Dick Bradsell’s modern classic, the Bramble. His reverse Bramble has a base of something sweet with something sour on top and swaps the traditional gin for tequila.
You’ll need: a Boston shaker, a Hawthorne strainer, a fine strainer and a rocks glass.
37.5ml Ocho Blanco tequila
12.5ml strawberry jam
7 lime leaves
Garnish: half a strawberry and a lime leaf
– Add the tequila, strawberry jam and seven lime leaves to a Boston shaker.
– Shake with cubed ice until the tin frosts over.
– Double strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
– Pour over the Cointreau.
– Garnish with half a strawberry and the remaining lime leaf.
