Cocktail of the month: Anti-fogmatic

Anti-fogmatic

For April’s cocktail of the month, Bartender Joe Ashworth prepares a take on the Anti-fogmatic, a term originating from John Lambert in the early 1800s as “a cocktail taken to ostensibly prepare the gentleman against damp and coldness, and to be taken immediately on rising out of bed”. Using York Brewery ale, while we might not recommend it for breakfast, it’s a delicious way to enjoy our local beer.

Ingredients

25ml Tanqueray gin
40ml stem ginger syrup
Juice of a lemon
250ml York Brewery Guzzler

Method

– Add the gin, lemon juice and ginger syrup to a Boston shaker with crushed ice and shake
– Strain into a highball glass and top up with York Brewery Guzzler ale
